2015 Title II Report

Introduction

The Indiana Department of Education serves Public School Corporations and Indiana Colleges and Universities throughout the ninety-two counties that comprise the State of Indiana. (Please refer to the file "Indiana Map by County".)  
 
There are eighty-three Indiana Colleges and Universities, many with additional regional campuses throughout the state. Forty-Seven of those institutions are teacher preparation programs. (Please refer to the file "Indiana Colleges and Universities").  
 
The Department of Education serves 386 school corporations who have a total of 1,801 schools, along with 699 private schools. (Please refer to the file "School Systems By County In Indiana".) We have 60,000 licensed teachers.  
 
Although Western Governors University is NCATE accredited, and it is listed on Indiana’s State Report Cards (STRCs) for 2010-2011, 2011-2012, and 2012-2013, Western Governor’s program has never been approved by the state of Indiana, requiring all of their students to be licensed in Indiana as out of state program completers.

The next link, "Indiana Colleges and Universities" is a list on the Department of Education Website of all of the Higher Education Institutions with links to the institution websites. The third link "Indiana Public School Corporations (K-12)” is a map of Indiana by County that is interactive and will allow you to select a county and will display all of the school corporations which can be clicked on to view schools within a specific corporation. (Refer to the file "School Systems by County in Indiana" so see a complete listing of this information). The final link, "Approved Teacher Preparation Programs by Institution", provides links to all of the Indiana Higher Education Institution's program sheets, which detail which majors they offer.
